Week 4: November 2025
Light & Dark Modes Launched
Students can now switch between light and dark modes of the platform when they are reading text, doing quizzes, or watching videos. Great for students with impaired visibility.

Add Your Own Textbook Cover
No need to be constrained to our standard textbook covers. You’ve designed your own textbook, so why not design your own cover too!? Put a little personality behind it. Or in the case of Phil below, don’t.
On the Settings page of your Control Center, you can now add your own textbook cover for you and students to see.

Standardized Textbook Adoption Details
We’ve standardized our textbook details across all bookstores and inclusive access providers. Now when you choose your textbook, simply go to the Settings tab of your Control Center to find your Textbook Name and ISBN. Share these with your bookstore, or use them when using your university’s online adoption system.
Auto Grade Syncing Defaults to On
Now when you install your textbook in Canvas or Blackboard, our Auto Grade Syncing feature will be switched on as standard. Auto Grade Syncing will automatically keep your Blended Teaching platform synced with your LMS, keeping the grade book up to date without any work from you.
Week 2: November 2025
Past, Active & Upcoming Textbooks
We’ve created the concept of Active, Upcoming and Previous Textbooks. Now when you log in to your account, you will be visited by 3 ghosts of textbooks past, present and future... Well, to be more precise, you will see your textbooks grouped by Past, Present and Upcoming. This will help you manage your textbooks and more easily prep for the upcoming semester.
Week 3: November 2025
SFA Conference
We’re off to SFA this week. So we’ll pause on updates for now whilst we meet our customers face to face.
Week 1: November 2025
Onboarding Improvements
This week we have been focussing on back end improvements that allow us to onboard classes and instructors with more speed. This is a step towards helping instructors build classes themselves, without needing our support.
Show Number of Quiz Questions in Quiz Table
In the Quizzes tab of the Control Center, you can now see the number of questions in each quiz in the table. This makes it easy for you to check that your quiz is set up with the correct number of questions.
Week 4: October 2025
Blended Bot Upgrade
We’ve been spending quality time with our favorite bot - Blended Bot. We’ve upgraded Blended Bot’s ability to identify users, and to increase specificity in responses for certain user groups. Designing a great support bot is an iterative process, and each week we add more material and direction to help guide Instructors and Students to the most useful information, fast.
Show Due Dates In Canvas for Auto Grade Syncing
If you are using the Auto Grade Syncing with Canvas, the due dates for quizzes are now being pushed through correctly into Canvas. This means students can now see the due dates that you’ve set in Blended Teaching, in Canvas. This means less emails for you :)
Onboarding Improvements
Ahead of the Spring semester, we’ve been working on updating the onboarding experience so that it can take as little as 10 minutes for an instructor to launch a brand new class from scratch in Canvas or Blackboard. The eventual goal is that this will become self-service in a few clicks. The updates we delivered this week take us 60% towards our goal for Onboarding Improvements.
Data Tagging for Class Design
As part of our priority of using data to enhance teaching, we’ve been adding more tags to textbooks to allow us to analyze data by Country, Subject Area, Style of Teaching (Flipped, Async, etc.) and more. As more data points are gathered, we’ll be able to use this tagging strategy to allow more effective class design.
Week 3: October 2025
Due Date Extension Increase
When giving a due date extension to a student, you can now allow up to 100 days past due, rather than 30 days previously.
Using Images in Quiz Answer Options
You can now include images in quiz answer options.
Using Images in Quizzes Questions
You can now include images in quiz questions.
The Great Saas Cull
We use over 50 Saas tools each week to build Blended Teaching. Some of which we use all the time, and others less. Some grow like weeds - why are we paying adobe so much money? This week we culled a range of Saas tools that we were no longer getting value from, reducing expenditure and building speed.
Previewing Content
Now you can preview content that is “unpublished”. Until now, content had to published in order for instructors to preview it. Now you can preview content that is unpublished.
Previewing Quizzes With Future Start Dates
Instructors can now preview their quizzes, whether they are unpublished, or whether they have start dates set in the future. Until now, this was not possible.
Week 2: October 2025
Quiz Analytics
Want to see stats around your quizzes? Pass rates, discrimination scores, distribution curves. We’ve just released Quiz Analytics, which also apply to your historic quizzes. Click here to learn more (see section 4 of this guide) →
Week 1: October 2025
Automatic Grade Syncing
No more pushing the “Sync Grades to Canvas” button in your BT Gradebook for you. Switch this feature on and Blended Teaching will automatically push grades to your LMS whenever a student submits an assessment that results in an update to the your Gradebook. To turn this feature on, see instructions here →
See Results for All Attempts
Now Instructors and Students can see the results for each of their attempts from an assessment. This is already live, and working for both instructors and students.
Assignment Upload Size Increased: 10MB → 20MB
When students complete an assignment, you can ask them to upload a file with their workings. The file size limit was 10MB, but we found this restrictive for a small number of users. So we increased it to accept file sizes up to 20MB.

Unintegrated Textbook Gradebook Syncing Tool
If your textbook is not integrated with Blended Teaching, until now you have had to manually copy across your grades into your Canvas gradebook whenever a quiz or assignment is completed.
Now, you can use our grade export wizard that will allow you to export your Blended Teaching gradebook and upload it straight into Canvas, and upload grades instantly. No more manual copy and pasting.

Week 2: December 2025
Dynamic Multiple Choice Questions Live
Dynamic Multiple Choice Question Banks are now live for all Financial Management courses. A Dynamic MCQ (or DMCQ as we call them) is a math question where the numbers in the question are different for each student and each attempt, providing infinite versions. There are 4 answer options for each DMCQ, and each answer option is based on a reasonable formula that the student could incorrect apply.
None of the legacy publisher platforms or major LMS support DMCQ questions yet. But we do. In Blended Teaching you can be testing your students more effectively immediately using our banks, or building your own DMCQs in our quizzing platform.
Banks of DMCQ questions are available for all Financial Management classes from now, and are already in use in classes. If you want them in your class, just ask us through the bot or email help@blended-teaching.com.
Client ID on Settings Page
For all those Canvas users out there - if you are integrated with Blended Teaching, infrequently, Canvas will ask you for your Client ID. It’s now available on your Settings page of your Control Center. Easy. 🙌
New Quiz Points Column in Quiz Table
The number of points for each assessment is now available and easy to see in the Quiz table on the Quizzes page of the Control Center. This allows you to easily check the points distribution across all of your assessments.
Week 1: December 2025
Course Structure - Show Times, Points & More
This week we’ve focussed on improving the Course Structure tab. Our instructors have told us how important this page is for designing their classes, so we’ve made improvements to help decision making around timing and selection of chapters.
Now you can see the total amount of time, chapters, modules and points in the textbook.
