One production credit processes one minute of source video through the first full production pass. We round each uploaded recording up to the next whole minute. If a 15-minute recording becomes four short lessons, it still uses 15 credits—not 60. The estimate is shown before processing; credits are deducted when the job starts and are returned if a Blended system failure prevents a review-ready result.

No. Draft captions and transcripts are starting artifacts, not certification. Depending on the lesson and institution, review may also require corrected captions, descriptions or text alternatives for meaningful visuals, player checks, contrast checks, and other requirements. A Department agreement can define the required checks, roles, reporting, and remediation responsibility.

A source job is one uploaded recording and every clip created from it. You can leave as many time-stamped comments as you need across those clips, then submit them together as one revision batch for that source job. Once the rerender completes, another submitted group counts as the next batch. Extra batches beyond your plan use one credit per minute of affected output, rounded up per clip.

No. Retries caused by a processing failure, and rerenders needed to correct a confirmed Blended error, do not use credits or revision passes.

Plan credits are granted at the start of each monthly billing cycle. Paid credits roll over up to twice the plan’s monthly allowance, so lighter teaching months can support a heavier course-build month. Free credits reset each month. Credits are tied to one account, have no cash value, and cannot be transferred outside a Department agreement.

The proposed paid plans can add 60 production credits for $25. Top-ups are used after the monthly balance, expire 12 months after purchase, and can be used only while an Instructor, Course Builder, or Department production plan is active.

Under the proposed model, $9/month maintenance mode keeps lessons published under your previous paid-plan limits but adds no credits, jobs, or revision batches. Stored top-ups pause during maintenance. Reactivate a production plan before processing or revising content.

Your original recording, slide deck, and other Instructor Content remain yours. Blended-built graphics and the finished lesson are licensed for use in your Blended course. Students and other instructors cannot download your source files.

Not on self-serve plans. The finished lesson streams inside Blended Teaching, where access, attribution, updates, and course permissions can be protected. You can export your own original source files during the plan’s retention window.

Your originals remain exportable during the stated retention period measured from upload. On downgrade, you choose which lessons stay active within the new limit; the rest are archived and still count toward the workspace library limit. A paid access offer will state cancellation, renewal, and any continuing student-access terms before you are charged.

An active course can receive new Video Studio work. An active published video is available to students inside that course. Archived videos are unavailable to students but remain in the workspace and count toward its total-video limit. Free and Instructor plans process one source job at a time; Course Builder processes two. A self-serve source file may be up to 120 minutes and must fit within the credits available when processing begins.
