Pricing Questions

What can I do for free, right now?

Instructor Tools are completely free, no credit card. Start with Paper Exam Grader to create and auto-grade paper exams in minutes. You can also build online quizzes and add up to 2 hours of concept videos for your class. No student involvement, no department approval, no commitment. Sign up and you'll be running an exam this week.

Do I pay anything as an instructor?

No. Instructor tools are designed to be free so that you can save time without worrying about the bill. However, if you want your students to engage with our tools, it's free up to a point, and after which students will pay just like a regular textbook publisher. We work with inclusive access providers, bookstores, or students can pay directly.

Can I use Instructor Tools alongside McGraw-Hill / Pearson / Cengage?

Yes. Instructor Tools are designed to complement your existing publisher. You can use slides, Paper Exam Grader, and real-world examples alongside any publisher platform. Our hope is that, over time, you'll wonder why you are using traditional publishers at all.

What is the difference between Courseware and Complete Course Materials?

Courseware gives students access to all of our tools (assignments, quizzes, practice exams, study guides) with content generated from your materials as the instructor. Complete Course Materials includes everything in Courseware, plus a full set of professionally produced content: a complete digital textbook, video chapters, slide decks, syllabus, and an AI tutor. Everything in Complete Course Materials is customizable, so you can teach your way.

How do students pay?

Students can access paid tiers in three ways: they can pay us directly when they sign up at the start of the course, purchase an access code through their university bookstore, or get access through their university's inclusive access or equitable access program.

Is there a free trial for the student tiers?

Yes. If you want to try it with your students for a semester or part of a semester, you're welcome to. If you like it, you would then add it as a required resource for the following semester, just like adopting any other textbook or publisher platform.

What if my school can't afford it?

Your school doesn't pay for anything. Instructor tools are completely free. If you choose to adopt Courseware or Complete Course Materials, students pay for it as a class resource, just like they would for any other textbook or course platform. No institutional budget or approval required.

Can I try with just one section of my class first?

Yes. Many instructors pilot with one section before rolling out across all their classes. Students in that section pay as normal, you teach the term, and you decide after whether to expand. It's a low-commitment way to see how it fits your teaching.
