Cookie Policy

This page explains the cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage) that Blended Teaching uses, why we use them, and how you can control them. It covers our apps at library.blended-teaching.com, educators.blended-teaching.com and mayflower.blended-teaching.com, and this website, www.blended-teaching.com.

We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share data for advertising.

These cookies make Blended Teaching work. Without them you cannot sign in or stay signed in, so they cannot be switched off.

Sign-in and session. When you sign in, Supabase Auth (our sign-in service, hosted in the United States) sets cookies that keep you signed in.

LMS launch. When you open Blended Teaching from Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace or Moodle, we set short-lived cookies that link the launch to your course and check that the sign-in request really came from your LMS.

Quizzes and previews. We use cookies to keep a quiz attempt or a content preview tied to the right person while it is open.

Invitations and sign-up. When an Educator accepts an invitation or signs up, we use short-lived cookies to carry that step through. We delete them when the step is complete.

Preferences. We store display choices you make, such as reading and accessibility settings, in your browser so they stay the same next time.

We use PostHog to understand how people use Blended Teaching, so we can fix problems and improve the product. PostHog stores data in the United States.

PostHog runs only on our live service, not on test sites. It sets a cookie and uses browser storage to recognise your browser between visits.

We record named events, such as opening a page or finishing a task. We have turned off automatic capture of every click in the Library and Mayflower apps.

In our apps, we link analytics to your Blended Teaching account ID and role. Web addresses that contain sign-in tokens are masked before they are sent.

Session replay. PostHog can record how a page was used (mouse movement, clicks, scrolling and what appeared on screen) so we can see and fix problems. Replay is switched off on pages whose web address carries a sign-in token. What you type into form fields is masked in recordings.

PostHog processes this data for us under a data processing agreement.

Our in-app support chat is provided by Intercom, hosted in the United States. Intercom sets cookies so that your conversation continues as you move between pages and visits, and so that our support team knows who they are helping. The chat may include Intercom's AI assistant, Fin.

If you buy access to course materials, you pay on a checkout page hosted by Stripe. Stripe sets its own cookies on that page to process the payment and prevent fraud. Your card details go to Stripe, not to us. Stripe's use of cookies is described in Stripe's own cookie policy.

Our apps and this website are hosted by Vercel. On this website we use Vercel Speed Insights to measure how quickly pages load.

Some course content embeds videos or maps from other services, such as YouTube, Vimeo, Wistia or Google Maps. When you play or view that content, the service may set its own cookies. Their use is covered by that service's own policy.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, you will not be able to sign in.

Blocking analytics or support-chat cookies will not stop Blended Teaching from working, although the support chat may not remember earlier conversations.

Many browsers and extensions can block analytics scripts. We respect those choices.
